Summer Sessions

On our 120 acres of wooded campgrounds, including a 2-acre lake, children get a break from city life, and the opportunity to explore and enjoy God’s handiwork in nature. Under counselors’ supervision, campers have the opportunity to participate in outdoor activities including: basketball, volleyball, canoeing, fishing, hiking & nature studies, overnight campouts, swimming, sports, arts & crafts, dance, archery, cooking, high and low ropes challenge courses, paintball (ages 10 and up), and horseback riding.

During daily activities and the evening gatherings (cookouts, campfires, and special events), kids have plenty of opportunities to meet others and find new friends. When it’s time to go to bed, the campers sleep in rustic cabins with up to 10 other campers and 2 to 3 counselors. Time spent sharing, praying, participating in Bible studies, and laughing in the cabins is sure to encourage lasting friendships.

Camp Westminster has 6 types of summer camping sessions which are listed below.

NOTE: We are upgrading our summer camp sessions and staffing! Here are some things you need to know!

Summer 2017 begins our transition toward a summer staff consisting entirely of young men and women age 18 years or older.  There are many reasons for this change but they come down to being what is in the best interest of our campers and their families.  The Junior Counselor position will no longer be offered and will be replaced by the position of Program Counselor.

A significant, and related, update involves our CIT (Counselor In Training) program.  CIT will be expanded to provide more and greater opportunities to teens aged 15 to 17 years.  There will now be four 2–week sessions for CITs, each including a stay over weekend and special activity.  This expanded CIT program allows us to increase our discipleship opportunities for our teenaged campers – providing a longer and more intensive time for these teens to experience growth and community while at Camp.

Additionally, these CIT sessions are priced very affordably, enabling teens to attend multiple sessions if their summer schedule allows.  CITs will have a great time serving, learning, and growing as they work hard and play hard at Camp Westminster.

Finally, Senior Blast week will now be a focused session for teens aged 13 to 15 years. This allows us to better concentrate on what God is doing in the lives of this very unique group of campers and, at the same time, provides them a greater opportunity to express and explore the work of the Lord in their lives with less distraction.
